In this “Meet n’ Greet” series, we’ll introduce you to some of the incredible people working at xDesign who help us drive our growth and success, every day. This week, we’re highlighting our people partner, Hayley Raeper. Read on to learn about her background in human resource management, her passion for people, and her one-word description of xDesign!
1. First things first! What is your role at xDesign and how long have you been with the company?
I’m one of xDesign’s people partners, looking after our QA, talent acquisition, marketing, sales and product teams, and I joined the team in January 2022 (so I’m still relatively new!)
2. What’s your professional background & what led you here?
I’ve been working within the human resources/people space for around five years. A year and a half ago, I gained my CIPD accreditation in Human Resources Management and haven’t looked back since! Technology is a sector I haven’t worked in previously, so getting exposure into the industry through xDesign really appealed to me. Continuous learning is also something I’m really passionate about, and given the opportunities at xDesign through various means, it seemed like a great fit. The company is also extremely people focused - people are at the core of everything they do which aligns with my personal values.
3. What’s involved in your day-to-day role?
Anyone that works within the people space will know that no day is ever the same - I like it that way! A regular day will involve catching up with various team members and managers, updating policies and processes, organising new hire inductions and paperwork, and kick-starting new projects *(there’ll probably be some coffee stops thrown in too!)*. xDesign is a fast paced organisation with a lot of variety, which I love.
4. What’s something you’re passionate about when it comes to your work?
People are my passion - it’s why I joined the people profession. The teams are always my priority and I ensure I communicate this to them. I want all our employees to be set up for success from the start of their xDesign journey. I’m also trained in first aid for mental health, which enables me to effectively support employee mental wellbeing which xDesign fully supports. If you look after your people, the rest will take care of itself and the business will reap the rewards.
