In this “Meet n’ Greet” series, we’ll introduce you to some of the incredible people working at xDesign who help us drive our growth and success, every day. This week, we’re highlighting senior software engineer, Graeme Grier. Read on to learn more about his passion for teamwork and his one-word description of xDesign!
1. First things first! What is your role at xDesign and how long have you been with the company?
I’m a senior software engineer focussing on native Android development, and I’ve been with xDesign for about six years now.
2. What’s your professional background & what led you here?
I started in the industry in 2015 as a graduate developer for another agency, but unfortunately in 2016 there was a round of redundancies and I was let go. I’m grateful that, knowing my situation, xDesign took me on even though they weren’t looking for Android developers at that time.
3. What’s involved in your day-to-day role?
I’m a developer first and foremost so my role mainly revolves around building native Android experiences. More recently, I’ve also found myself taking on more responsibilities within the mobile team and helping guide others through line management. I’m glad I get to give back to other developers and help them in the same way that xDesign has helped me.
4. What’s something you’re passionate about when it comes to your work?
The team. It’s fantastic to know that you are part of a team who goes out of their way to make sure we’re doing the best work we can. Everyone here seems to really care about what they do and you can really feel that energy in the work people put in.
